Description | |
Background | Glial fibrillary acidic proteins (GFAP) are intermediate filaments of class III (IFs). It is specifically expressed in the cytoplasm of central nervous system astrocytes (AS). As an astrocyte specific marker. It, together with microtubules and microfilaments, constitutes the cytoskeleton of most eukaryotic cells, provides mechanical support for the plasma membrane contacted by other cells or extracellular matrix, maintains the morphological stability of astrocytes, participates in the formation of the blood-brain barrier, regulates synaptic function and other biological functions. |
We can offer labeled proteins/antibodies using a broad range of intensely fluorescent dyes and labels including FITC, Biotin, Alexa Fluor, Rhodamine B, Cy, Co-Au.
